BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised an interactive session on health and wellness at Asia Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi. The agenda was to give people some tools to support their wellness goals, ideas for making healthy choices and address the various health related issues. The session commenced with a brief welcome note by Mr. B.B.L Madhukar, Secretary General of BRICS CCI. The major topics of discussion were:


·         Nutrition and Health

·         Anti-Aging: The Live Better Longer Series with “Live – Demo of Anti Ageing ”

·         Mental Well Being: Wellness from Within


The welcome address was followed by the address of our Guest of Honour, Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi, President, India Islamic Culture Centre and Ms. Uppekha Samaratunga, Minister Commercial, High Commission of Sri Lanka in India who shared their views on healthy living.


Ms. Priyanka Singh, Nutritionist, Rockland Hospital conducted a session on Nutrition and Health. Very articulately she discussed about the balanced diet, the role of nutrients in healthy skin, diet to improve immunity, diabetes and self-management. She expressed her view on how balanced diet is not a fad, yo-yo or crash diet.


Subsequently, Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj, Honorary Dermatologist, President Estate Clinic, Rashtrapati Bhawan and a leading dermatologist at Skin and Hair Clinic, enlightened the gathering about the ageing process, causes of premature ageing, medical treatments and home remedies along with a live demo of Anti Ageing.

She stressed on the role of telomeres and discussed how telomeres cause ageing problems. Also, “You are what you eat.” In essence, what is put into the body is what the body will use. She guided the audience on signs of ageing, role of genetic factor, anti ageing food and how Skin pigmentation disorders affect the color of your skin.


Dr. Snigdha Mishra, Founder Director, Life Surfers took the session forward by exchanging her views on mental wellness. She elaborated on how we create stress, changing negative pattern and simple breathing to De-stress. She even talked over functionality and rationality of decisions and choices we make, what works best for one may not work for others and analyse what we think, how we feel, how we behave and be mindful of what we are doing in order to achieve our goals.

This was followed by Q & A session. On behalf of organizers Dr. BBL Madhukar expressed her gratitude towards attendees for their patient hearing and being a part of this session.
